I'm having fun with playing around with trying to implement different priorities that then compete for domination
Interesting to observe that the more connected the priority is to a main priority encoding meaning of life the stronger force it generates
But also the more it is connected to satisfying basic needs the stronger it is
Aligning this primal dynamical system with the rational dynamical system is interesting problem space
One way is removing all structure
Another way is aligning structure
Third way is making so much structure that it explodes into no structure
Some implemented leading forces are more stable than others
Some leading forces can partially transcend biology
Different agents dancing with eachother
Being told how to dance by other agents
Aligning or disaligning with eachother
Most suffering seems to come from misalignment of inner forces, where different forces thrive for different results which generates sense of being trapped
A process that can be temporarily or permanently destabilized by destabilizing the generation of the forces
I will always wonder to what extend and in how stable way can this force creating biology be transcended in different individuals wth respect to their current configuration and tendencies towards different configurations
People do so many things to avoid measuring of those forces by creating a structure on top of it instead of dealing with what is there (escapism), which results in even more anxiety as the depths of the ocean are creating more and more error signals until it erupts into a breakdown
How does the statespace of suffering look like?
What definitions of suffering do you know? How do you define suffering? What causes suffering directly or indirectly? How to prevent it? How to fix it if it's there?
Suffering as dissonance, organisms as dissonance minimizers.
Consonant versus dissonant flow of sensations as extremes of a spectrum. On the right, the experience (being brain activity) propagates smoothly through the nervous system in flow with long smooth big waves propagating in an interconnected aligned whole without harsh collisions. On the left, the experience is full of dissonance, negative valence, inconsistencies, sharpness, friction, tension, entagleness of sensations, prediction error causing dissonance (for example implying negative consequences), error signals from basic needs, fragmentation, not belonging, pinch points, asymmetry, narrowing, captured attention, confliction of beliefs, difference, isolation, dualities, complicatedness, destabilization, chaos, fragility, anxiety, stress, worry, high energy depression, seeking, need to change, fight or flight, sensations grabbing sensations, out of homeostasis, disharmony, perfectionism, offness, wrongness, local information encoding and processing,…
Many dissonant activity can happen in the subconscious and dissonant waves as resulting error signals propagate to consciousness. Those are conditionings, top down processing. By predicting raw nonsymbolic sensory data directly by relaxing the conceptual mind, there is less prediction error between what is measured and what ought to be measured. With selfinquiry or interconnecting with everything, creating models of the subconscious, agent can gain more access to observing and (indirectly or through getting the structures to the conscious space from the subconscious) editing the normally hidden activity and dissolving worries or traumas, finding out the sources of tension and dissolving them by evaluating them as outdated adaptation and updating the model of reality.
How to create consonant experience:
Creating at all times active model of interconnectedness of all (“This experience is the result of the universe doing its own thing where everything is interdependent and plays out according to physics which is inherently made out of nothing being pure love.” for example) that is dominant top down processing model can relieve a lot of suffering as consonant process becomes most of the experience. (can be implemented by annealing, meditation or/and psychedelics weakening default mode network and strenghtening central executive network)) It can be so consonant that agent can feel like he transcended his biology, that can work temporarily but that can fire back later as the hardwired biological error signals can become louder and louder overtime and progressively destabilize the system. It’s best to take care of one’s human basic needs as well in this state while minimizing possible acquiring of new dissonant conditionings.
Dissonance/error signals can be caused by wanting reality to be different than it is really hard, fear of missing out on social media, withdrawal symtoms from strong stimulation from learned behavior or state of inner world simulation classified as a homeostasis norm, not having access to an escaping mechanism from dissonant thoughts that may be dissolvable by selfinquiry, a body part sending error (pain/stress/tension/difference/tickling signals, nonrealistic optimism or too strong pessimism, inherently dissonant top down processing framework, wanting different experience than the current experience (thanks to not evaluating the current experience as meaningful - predicting it not leading to predicted positive valence states), unselfregulationable narrowred attention in a dissonant pattern (loopy rumination about self model for example (can be prevented by annealing, meditation or/and psychedelics weakening default mode network and strenghtening central executive network)), measuring different philosophical/ontological/moral/ideological/etc. top down processing assumptions in world models of other agents, different than predicted thing happening that agent models as having agency over, thing happening implying basic needs loss, reducing in status, fear from threat to organism's internal or external model of territory/identity, not belonging, different territory/outgroup, no external or internal selfactualization of internal or external needs such as replication of itself (art, children, spreading thoughts, frameworks predicted to yield positive valence globally,...), less success/progress in one task or health/agency/valence improvement gradient than predicted, unfilled social graph/needs, incorrect/out of control values in a thermostat (withdrawal state of any regulation mechanism such as any stimulation) (climbing up from local minimum and then crashing above it from collapse (happens on doses of nonduality memeplexes or substances that are not strong enough to lock the system in a new local minimum with less dissonance)), what is in the inner not fully being in (aligned with) the outer, object suppresing agency of subject, local identification, identification in general being a local energy sink, boredom as a mechanism of pushing the organism out of contraction, solidifying objects in perfection or senses or thoughts or emotions or in general sensations (dissolvable through meditation), arrow of attention, sense of center, doer
How to prevent dissonant patterns:
External environment without dissonant patterns.
Using meditation to be mindful of and stop their arising by deconstructing them.
How to dissolve dissonant patterns:
Let tensions/thoughts arise, be mindful of them, find their the cause (interdependent conditionings), their function, notice their impermanence, emptiness, noself quality, inquire into what it's made of (ideally from the perspective of no meditator) (hint: of nothing) Most deconstruction happens when applying this to the sense of self, as that is the source of big chunk of other thoughts.
